New amplifiers work from 380 MHz to 18 GHz. They give flexible power and control, making testing easier and more reliable for many different uses.
Rohde & Schwarz has expanded its R&S BBA300 broadband amplifier portfolio with two new series: the R&S BBA300-F (6–13 GHz) and the R&S BBA300-FG (6–18 GHz), now available in 90 W, 180 W, and 300 W power classes. Combined with the existing R&S BBA300-CDE (380 MHz–6 GHz) and R&S BBA300-DE (1–6 GHz), the R&S BBA300 family now offers compact dual-band amplifiers covering 380 MHz to 18 GHz in 4HU desktop models.
The R&S BBA300 series is a new generation of solid-state broadband amplifiers, built for high availability and linear output across ultra-wide frequencies. They support amplitude, frequency, phase, pulse, and complex OFDM modulation, and maintain robust performance under all mismatch conditions for reliable test results. These amplifiers are suited for EMC testing, RF component evaluation, co-existence testing, compliance verification, and production testing. Their wide frequency coverage makes them ideal for wireless and ultra-wideband applications.
The R&S BBA300-F series offers a cost-effective solution for 6–13 GHz, while the R&S BBA300-FG covers 6–18 GHz continuously. Both series support ultrawideband testing and meet various EMC standards across mobile communications (FCC, ETSI), automotive (ISO), aerospace (DO‑160), and military (MIL‑STD‑461). Available power classes include 30 W, 50 W, 90 W, 180 W, and 300 W.
The family also provides flexible RF output control. Users can optimize the amplifier for linearity or pulse reproduction by adjusting the operating point between class A and class AB. They can also choose maximum mismatch tolerance or maximum output power to leverage power reserves. Both settings can be changed during operation, enabling developers, test engineers, integrators, and operators to adapt quickly to diverse testing requirements.
