Brocade announced that it has acquired California based Ruckus Wireless. Now this is an important step in Brocade’s strategic vision to build a pure-play networking company that supports the rapidly evolving requirements of the digital transformation era which involves Internet Of things.
Brocade has market-leading storage networking and IP networking solutions by adding high-performance wireless hardware and software products. Wireless is a critical access technology for modern New IP network architectures. With the acquisition this will evolve into a natural extension of Brocade’s advanced offering of fabrics, software-based virtualisation, network analytics and mobile networking solutions.
Growth in mobility is driving exponential increases in connected devices and data. Thus it is fueling the need for greater analytics capabilities and more pervasive security across the network.
Brocade and Ruckus Wireless can now lend their expertise on carrier-grade wireless, virtual Evolved Packet Core, mobile edge computing, and network visibility. This surge in technology and leadership will further strengthen the disruptive mobility strategy which Brocade announced in February. Now OpenG™ technology and 5G services, Internet of Things (IoT), and smart cities will see a paradigm shift to through Brocade which will supply more expertise to such differentiated technologies.
