Key Responsibilities
- Configure LED driver ICs to achieve target display performance, including brightness, grayscale, colour accuracy, and uniformity.
- Optimise driver parameters such as current settings, PWM timing, scan configuration, gamma, and grayscale performance.
- Evaluate image quality metrics including mura, flicker, ghosting, crosstalk, low grayscale performance, and refresh rate.
- Support LED panel calibration, white balance, gamma correction, and colour uniformity optimisation.
- Perform laboratory measurements using oscilloscopes, multimeters, colourimeters, spectrometers, and imaging systems.
- Analyse electrical characteristics including power consumption, signal integrity, voltage, current, and thermal behaviour.
- Work closely with hardware, FPGA, firmware, and manufacturing teams to debug display issues.
- Validate new LED driver ICs and recommend optimal configurations for different LED technologies (SMD, COB, Flip-chip, etc.).
- Prepare technical documentation, configuration guidelines, and validation reports.
- Support supplier interactions and troubleshooting during product development and manufacturing.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Master or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent experience
- Strong understanding of electrical engineering fundamentals.
- Good knowledge of LED display architecture and LED driver ICs.
- Understanding of PWM, multiplexing, grayscale control, and constant-current drivers.
- Knowledge of display calibration concepts including gamma, color temperature, white point, and luminance.
- Experience with laboratory instruments such as oscilloscopes and power supplies.
- Basic scripting or programming knowledge (Python, C/C++, or MATLAB) is desirable.
- Experience with fine-pitch LED displays.
- Knowledge of image quality optimisation and calibration techniques.
- Experience working with LED driver vendors and display manufacturers.
- Ability to analyse electrical waveforms and troubleshoot hardware issues.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
