A Hardware Design Engineer (R&D) at boAt Lifestyle in Bengaluru is generally responsible for designing, developing, validating, and supporting the electronics used in boAt’s audio products, wearables, and consumer electronics. While the exact opening may vary, the responsibilities and qualifications are typically as follows.
Job Responsibilities
- Design analogue and digital hardware circuits for consumer electronic products.
- Develop schematics and support PCB layout and reviews.
- Select electronic components considering performance, cost, and manufacturability.
- Design power management circuits including DC-DC converters and LDOs.
- Work with microcontrollers and embedded hardware platforms.
- Perform hardware bring-up, debugging, validation, and troubleshooting.
- Investigate production and field failures, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
- Support EMI/EMC testing and regulatory compliance.
- Collaborate with firmware, mechanical, manufacturing, and testing teams throughout product development.
- Optimise products for mass production, reliability, and cost.
Required Qualifications
- Exceptionally good knowledge in components/Sensors Selection.
- Strong knowledge in Schematic design and PCB Layout design/guidance.
- Strong knowledge in Design & Validation and preparation of test plan documents.
- Strong knowledge in debugging and validation of SMPS module, Soundbar, Embedded system and IoT
- Debugging skills in Wi-Fi/BT, UART, SPI, I2C, I2S, ADC and DAC interface
- Product documentation, testing, and Certifications.
- Experience in all stages of Hardware Product Development Lifecycle and atleast seen minimum of 5 products complete life cycle.
- Proven experience in embedded systems design
- Must have strong knowledge in Bluetooth, BLE, Wi-Fi standards, Audio, and headsets.
- Candidates having experience in developing wearables and IoT systems.
