Your Impact
- Install, configure, and maintain EDA tool suites from major vendors (e.g., Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor/Siemens, Ansys).
- Administer license servers (FlexLM/FlexNet) and monitor usage to ensure compliance and optimise license availability for global teams.
- Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for hardware engineers, resolving issues related to tool crashes, tool installation issues, and environment configurations.
- Develop and maintain scripts (Python, Tcl, Perl, or Bash) to automate repetitive tasks, integrate different tools into a unified design flow, and improve productivity.
- Work closely with IT and CAD teams to optimise tool performance on Linux-based compute clusters and manage large-scale data storage requirements.
- Open and track technical support cases with EDA vendors, advocating for bug fixes and feature enhancements required by our design teams.
- Create and maintain “How-To” guides, environment setup procedures, and best practice documentation for the engineering community.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3–6 years of experience in EDA tool support or a CAD/CAE engineering environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Strong proficiency in Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting.
- Experience managing FlexLM or similar license management software.
- Proficiency in using AI tools in day-to-day work, including scripting, communication, and debugging.
- Solid understanding of one or more scripting languages – Perl, Python, TCL, bash, etc.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with high-performance computing (HPC) workload managers like LSF (Load Sharing Facility), Slurm or Grid Engine.
- Familiarity with revision control systems such as Git, Perforce, or CVS.
- Windows experience: Some Microsoft Windows administration experience would be a plus.
