Seeking a passionate and research-oriented Intern to work closely with the electrical, avionics, and systems engineering teams to design, develop, and test power systems. The role focuses on energy generation, storage, regulation, and power conditioning under near-space environmental conditions.
Key Responsibilities
Power System Design & Development
- Assist in designing power distribution architectures for aerostat and balloon platforms
- Support development of battery management systems (BMS) for Li-ion/Li-Po batteries
- Work on DC-DC converters, voltage regulators, and power conditioning modules
- Contribute to solar array integration and Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) systems
Testing & Validation
- ‚Perform electrical testing, load analysis, and efficiency measurements
- Support thermal testing of power electronics under simulated flight conditions
- Document test procedures, results, and failure analysis reports
System Integration
- Collaborate with the avionics team for power-avionics interface design
- Support wiring harness design and cable routing for power distribution
- Assist in EMI/EMC considerations for power subsystems
Research & Documentation
- Research on high-altitude power system architectures and COTS components
- Ģ Prepare technical reports, presentations, and design documentation
Requirements
- Pursuing or have completed B.Tech/M.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or related field
- Basic understanding of power electronics, battery systems, and solar power
- Familiarity with circuit design tools (LTSpice, MATLAB, or similar)
- Knowledge of DC-DC converters, voltage regulators, and protection circuits
- Hands-on experience with soldering, prototyping, and testing preferred
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
