Andes Technology, a supplier of 32/64-bit RISC-V processor cores and a Founding Premier member of RISC-V International, and Spacetouch Technology, a company in smart home and consumer electronics, announced the integration of AndesCore D25F in the SPV60 series as an edge-side audio processor. This integration combines traditional and intelligent audio in a new generation of on-device AI audio processors.

The processor, based on the AndeStar V5 architecture, is a 32-bit RISC-V CPU IP core with a P-extension. It is used with the RISC-V DSP/SIMD ISA compiler, DSP library, emulator, and the AndeSoft NN Library for AI application acceleration. The D25F has optional features like instruction and data cache, low latency local memory, and ECC for memory protection. It supports bus interfaces and can be configured with a PLIC for interrupt response. The Andes Custom Extension allows for customization with special-purpose instructions.

Spacetouch’s SPV60 series integrates the Andes D25F core in a new AI audio processor chip with a CPU + NPU + uDSP architecture. This architecture processes audio tasks and improves AI audio processor chip performance. It supports noise reduction, echo cancellation, suppression, and speech recognition algorithms. Focused on performance and low power consumption, the SPV60 series is aimed at embedded systems and mobile devices, offering development support for voice, headphones, and audio applications. The chips are in mass production.

“Andes’ D25F with DSP/SIMD extensions offers efficient performance and flexible configurations, making it an ideal choice for high-performance embedded controllers.” Andes Technology Chairman and CEO Frankwell Lin said. “We are very excited that Spacetouch launched these new edge-side AI audio processor chips in collaboration with Andes. They continue to work with us to develop successful products while providing helpful feedback on our processors and development tools. We look forward to Spacetouch delivering more AndesCoreâ„¢ embedded products and competitive solutions to the market in smart home, traditional home appliances, and consumer electronics.”
