Astera Labs Introduces New Portfolio of Fabric Switches Purpose-Built for AI Infrastructure at Cloud-Scale

Astera Labs has introduced a line of fabric switches, including the first PCIe 6 switch designed for AI workloads in computing environments. The Scorpio Smart Fabric Switch portfolio is built to optimize AI dataflows, ensuring performance per watt, reliability, and cloud deployment while reducing time-to-market and costs. The portfolio includes two product lines, Scorpio P-Series and Scorpio X-Series.

Scorpio Smart Fabric Switches are part of Astera Labs’ Intelligent Connectivity Platform and integrate with the COnnectivity System Management and Optimization Software (COSMOS) suite. This combination provides a connectivity backbone with data centre observability, security, and fleet management. Scorpio offers insights into the health of computing platforms, ensuring availability and uptime.

Tested with PCIe hosts and endpoints in Astera Labs’ Cloud-Scale Interop Lab and customer platforms, Scorpio is now shipping in pre-production quantities for head-node PCIe 6 connectivity. It enables AI platform deployment with plug-and-play interoperability, diagnostics, telemetry, and design support.
