Job Description
- Experienced in schematic design and capture, along with comprehensive PCB design (Mentor Graphics tools) activities including component placement, routing, split planes, DRC cleanup, and silkscreen and assembly drawing cleanup.
- Proficient in post‑processing deliverables such as generating PCB Gerbers, PCBA drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOMs), followed by detailed PCB reviews and release of Gerber data.
- Actively perform BOM scrubbing, including lifecycle assessment, library availability checks, and raising NPR requests for unavailable parts in the EDM system.
- Conduct weekly part obsolescence monitoring using PLM and SiliconExpert tools, generate reports, and compare PLM data with Silicon Expert alerts to identify and communicate component risks to stakeholders.
- Skilled in identifying alternate components in cases of obsolescence, last‑time‑buy (LTB), material shortages, or other business‑driven requests.
- Additionally, responsible for generating ECN and OBS cases in PLM systems and managing engineering change processes to ensure controlled and efficient engineering releases.

Key Responsibilities
- Perform schematic design and end-to-end PCB layout (placement, routing, split planes, DRC, silkscreen & assembly cleanup).
- Generate manufacturing deliverables: Gerbers, PCBA drawings, and BOM.
- Conduct PCB design reviews and manage Gerber data release.
- Perform BOM scrubbing (lifecycle checks, library validation, NPR in EDM).
- Monitor part obsolescence using PLM & SiliconExpert; share risk reports with stakeholders.
- Identify alternate components for obsolete/LTB/material shortage cases.
- Create and manage ECN/OBS cases in PLM and support engineering release cycles.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- 5–8 years of experience in ECAD and PCB design.
- Strong hands-on experience with Mentor Graphics tools.
- Solid understanding of PCB fabrication and assembly processes.
- Experience in BOM management and lifecycle risk assessment.
- Working knowledge of PLM systems and EDM workflows.
- Experience with SiliconExpert or similar component intelligence tools.
- Good understanding of ECN and engineering change workflows.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective stakeholder communication skills.
