What if your UPS could turn into a solar system? An inverter series enables it, with app control, AI use, and lower electricity use.

Nyquest Innovation Labs has announced the launch of its new solar inverter series, designed to combine power electronics with a modern product form. Developed by a team from Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, the new lineup includes the iCON and iCUBE models.
The company positions this series as a shift from traditional inverter design. Instead of being hidden hardware, the units are built with a clean and compact structure, similar to consumer electronic devices. The focus is on both usability and system performance.
At the core of the new products is Nyquest’s patented Battery Charging Inhibition (BCI) technology. This is supported by AI-based control algorithms that help manage energy flow more efficiently. The system allows users to upgrade existing UPS setups into solar-enabled systems without replacing the entire infrastructure.
Through this approach, users can reduce dependence on grid electricity and lower power costs. The company states that savings can reach up to 50 percent, depending on usage patterns. A mobile application is also included, giving users access to real-time monitoring and control.
The launch comes at a time when demand for hybrid and retrofit solar systems is increasing. Nyquest is targeting both residential and commercial users, especially those already using backup power systems.
The company has also received strategic investment from Zoho, supporting further product development and expansion. Nyquest reports growth in deployments, with over 10,000 installations completed and operations extending to markets in Africa.
With this launch, the company aims to expand its reach through partnerships and scale manufacturing. The company is focused on converting existing UPS systems into solar-ready units, targeting a large global base of installed devices.
