The module integrates a built-in PCB antenna, removing the need for external antenna design and reducing development time. It operates at 13.56 MHz and supports both ISO 15693 and ISO 14443 Type A, including widely used card technologies such as NXP I Code and MIFARE Classic. This allows a single hardware platform to support both proximity and vicinity card use cases.

With the onboard antenna, the module delivers a read range of up to 80 mm, suitable for tap based and near field applications. The compact 35 × 35 mm form factor, with a thickness of 3.25 mm and weight of approximately 5 grams, enables integration into space constrained enclosures. It operates on either 3.3 V or 5 V DC supply and supports a temperature range of −20 to +75 degrees Celsius, making it suitable for industrial and outdoor environments.

For host integration, the module offers SPI, I²C, and UART (TTL) interfaces, allowing compatibility with a wide range of microcontrollers and single board systems. RapidRadio provides an SDK along with auto inventory firmware that continuously scans for tags and transmits data without requiring active polling.

With support for hardware and firmware customisation and integration assistance through deployment, the module is positioned to simplify the addition of RFID functionality into embedded products.
