Advantech Launches FPM-300S Series

Advantech has introduced the FPM-300S Series of rugged monitors with 1800-nit high-brightness displays for outdoor edge visualisation. The monitors are designed to remain readable and operate reliably in direct sunlight and conditions involving dust, rain, humidity, and frequent physical interaction.

The series is intended for system integrators and equipment manufacturers developing EV charging stations, outdoor kiosks, transportation terminals, energy infrastructure, smart city systems, and other outdoor industrial equipment. They can use the monitors to provide visible touch-based interfaces and status information in environments where conventional displays may be difficult to read or protect.

The FPM-300S Series uses an 1800-nit display to maintain visibility under direct sunlight. An anti-glare coating reduces reflections, while an anti-UV coating helps protect the display surface from yellowing and degradation caused by prolonged UV exposure. Auto-dimming adjusts brightness according to ambient light conditions.

For operation in humid environments, optical bonding combines the cover glass, touch panel, and LCD into a single optical stack. This reduces internal reflections and helps minimise fogging. The monitors have an IP66-rated front panel for protection against dust and water splashes, along with IK08 impact resistance for applications exposed to physical contact or impacts.

The displays operate across temperatures from -20°C to 70°C. This makes them suitable for outdoor installations that experience changes in temperature and weather conditions.

The series is available in 12.1-inch, 15-inch, 15.6-inch, and 21.5-inch sizes. Applications include EV charging stations, outdoor kiosks, transportation terminals, energy infrastructure, and smart city systems. In harbour and container terminal environments, the monitors can support visibility in strong sunlight and operation in humid, high-salinity, and high-traffic conditions.

Selected models feature a C1D2-compliant design for hazardous locations, including oil and gas facilities, energy storage sites, and chemical plants. A Type-C single-cable connection can also carry power, touch, and video signals through one connection, simplifying installation.
