Are you keen on traveling? If long trips in your good old trailer are one of your main hobbies, you want your trailer to be as functional as it is possible. It becomes even more important if you travel with kids, and if sometimes, you have to spend several nights on the wheels.
Thus, your trailer shall be equipped to provide you and your family the maximum comfort. It might sound like something incredibly unrealistic but with several reliable linear actuators, you can make incredible things happen. Here, we will check what you can do with linear actuators. Consider though that in some cases, special skills are going to be needed.
A Lift Table
Your family needs to eat, and it is not always possible outside. You can fix a lift table, or rather a popup table directly in the trailer. Choose one of the best table tops in Canada that manufacturers offer, fix it on a lifting system so that in a retracted position, the top is located at the level of the floor. Cover it, and nobody will see that you have a table there. Lift it whenever you need a table, and remove it once there is no need for it.
Instead of a lift table, you can make a drop-down table. You can attach linear actuators to the ceiling and fix a tabletop to them so that when the actuators extend, they lower the tabletop and make it possible to use. If you don’t need the table anymore, the actuators remove it to the ceiling. This installation is applicable if you aren’t going to fix anything else on the ceiling.
Foldable Chairs
On the walls, install a couple of linear actuators. Fix on them chair seats in a way to make them unfold when the actuator retracts, and fold back to the wall when the actuator extends. Make sure that the actuators can support your height. Also, it is important to check whether the actuators have a stroke length sufficient to bring the foldable chair in the needed position to sit comfortably and remove it completely.
An Automated Bed
If you and your family want to have proper rest at night, a good bed is a must. You can have it even in a trailer. Order a bed frame. It shall be as light as it is possible but don’t compromise the comfort.
In the ceiling, install several (normally four but you can opt for more if you feel that it is more secure) actuators. Fix the bed frame to them in a way that they lower it from the ceiling when they extend and lift it back to the ceiling when they retract. So, in the daytime, you can enjoy the space in your trailer, and at night, you can turn it into a fully functional bedroom.
Make sure that the actuators you are going to use for the project have lifting power sufficient to support the bed weight. Also, purchase the actuators from reliable manufacturers only. It is a guarantee that they won`t break down and the bed won`t drop on you and your family members.
Do You Want to Watch TV when on a Trip?
Your kids and other family members might be missing their favorite programs and movies during those short breaks between the trips. What about finding a place for a nice TV set directly in your trailer?
You can make it drop down from the ceiling of your trailer. To do so, get a TV lifting system, and install it on the ceiling of your vehicle. Hide the cables under the lining or arrange them with a cable management system. To protect the TV set from dust, dirt, and possible damages, you can fix some kind of a cover there or make a cabinet that will hide your device when it is not in use.
Work Is Possible, Too
Do you need to work sometimes when you are on the move? Automate that small desk, make it go up to the needed level to allow you to work comfortably, and go down to be stored when you don’t need it.
Do You Have Any More Ideas?
Have you been dreaming about more improvements? With linear actuators, you can install in your trailer all the needed things to make every trip comfortable.
What about creating an additional storage space there up on the trailer wall? Fix a cabinet there, and make an actuator drop it down to the height comfortable for you to use it. and when you don’t need it, move it up with a push of a button. It will not clog space, and you can store there so many needed things!
All in all, with linear actuators, some creative and smart ideas, you can turn your trailer into a small but highly functional home.
