As an ECAD Library Engineer, you will be at the heart of our product design ecosystem—transforming electronic component data into intelligent, high-quality CAD models that power world-class hardware. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to create the digital building blocks behind innovative electronic systems used across the globe.
What You’ll Do
- Design and build accurate CAD symbols, PCB footprints, and 3D component models that meet company and industry standards.
- Interpret complex component datasheets and specifications to create precise and reliable models for schematic and PCB design.
- Ensure data integrity by loading and maintaining detailed component attributes within enterprise library systems.
- Verify and validate your own work to guarantee compliance with design, manufacturing, and test requirements.
- Collaborate across teams—working with design, manufacturing, and procurement engineers to resolve issues and complete component data.
- Apply your mechanical aptitude, electronic knowledge, and geometry skills to create models that ensure accurate circuit card fabrication and assembly.
- Maintain and organize CAD library structures in a Windows-based environment, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
- Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline library creation and management processes.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electronics, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.
- Hands-on experience with ECAD tools such as Mentor Xpedition, Cadence Allegro, Altium Designer, or Zuken CR-8000.
- Strong foundation in schematic symbols, PCB footprints, and 3D modeling principles.
- Solid understanding of Windows directory structures, file management, and version control systems.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality, standards-compliant designs.
- Ability to work independently and thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced global engineering environment.
Bonus Skills
- Familiarity with IPC standards (IPC-7351, IPC-2612, etc.).
- Experience with PLM/PDM systems (Windchill, Teamcenter, or Agile).
- Knowledge of PCB fabrication and assembly processes.
