CUI Devices’ Motion and Control Group have introduced a new addition to its AMT incremental encoder family designed to accommodate smaller motor shaft sizes ranging from 1 mm to 6.35 mm (1/4 inch). Known as the AMT12 series, this encoder utilizes CUI Devices’ proprietary capacitive ASIC technology to deliver exceptional durability, accuracy, and resistance to environmental particulates, all within a compact 22.2 x 22.2 x 12.8 mm package. 

The series is favored by robotics engineers for its compact size, durability, and accurate positional sensing. Industrial automation professionals rely on its precise motion control capabilities, while OEM manufacturers benefit from its customizable resolution settings and robust environmental specifications. Featuring 16 programmable resolutions from 96 to 4096 PPR and drawing just 16 mA at 5 V, the AMT12 encoder is suited for robotics, industrial, and automation applications. It offers versatility with options for radial or axial orientations, operates across a wide temperature range from -40 to +125°C, and provides single-ended quadrature A/B output channels. The encoder’s digital design and compatibility with CUI Devices’ AMT Viewpoint software allow for easy customization of resolution settings and zero position configuration.
