Engineer, Tooling At Molex

Carry out predictive, preventive and break down maintenance of high speed dies to ensure the trouble-free running and involve in process troubleshooting to optimize the process.

Specific Responsibilities

Generic

1. Effective & efficient utilization of resources
2. To work with the department in charge to draw plans to achieve dept. goals
3. Assist processing team in troubleshooting production problems
4. Identifying improvement plans in his function and support for implementation
5. Updating & maintaining of relevant documents in Die maintenance with clear and concise data
6. Maintaining housekeeping & ensuring safety measures in the work place
7. Drive for continuoul improvement in respective areas
8. Participate in GLSS activities wherever assigned

Environmental/CSR

1. Active participation in (a) Emergency preparedness and Emergency response team (Firefighting, First aid & evacuation) teams as called for.
2. Comply to the Corporate Social Responsibility activities

Function Specific

1. Maintain & up keep Dies to its original or better capability through predictive & preventive maintenance
2. Provide proper tooling service during shifts including process debugging
3. To carry out Die change over on bench as per the given schedule
4. To carry out break down maintenance effectively and efficiently as and when required, to perform predictive and preventive maintenance as per plan
5. Help in collecting & analysing the data and support for the corrective actions for improving the plant metrics and dept. goals
6. Ensure that tooling spares and drawing are maintained and managed properly

Specific Authorities

1. Authorise to stop production if abnormality or deviation in process set up, RM/product quality, product inspection method observed
2. Authorize to stop production if any unsafe condition or unsafe act noticed

Job Specification

Qualification: Diploma in Tool & Die Making

Skill Sets & Competencies

1. Working knowledge of machining process ,related machinery & equipment
2. Working knowledge in Stamping process including IMPACT press working and understanding in process optimization
3. Working knowledge of die change over in stamping machine including the machine set up for production
4. Sound knowledge in technical drawing and geometric tolerance
5. Working Knowledge in Die Assembly, debugging and repair. Ability to work methodically and meticulously while performing them
6. Basic understanding on Quality System ISO 9000 , ISO 14000 and TS 16949
7. Skilled in procedure origination and monitoring
8. Product quality / measurement techniques
9. Understanding of PFMEA, control plan
10. Basic knowledge on Lean manufacturing tools & techniques
11. Systematic problem solving technique, like PDCA, 8D
12. Good analytical skill.
