A new class of high-power, three-phase AC-DC units with flexible outputs and industrial temp resilience aims to streamline power design in test, fab and manufacturing systems.

TDK has unveiled a new range of industrial AC-DC power supplies rated up to 4500 W that accept three-phase inputs and can deliver either single or dual outputs. These modules are designed to handle demanding applications such as test and measurement gear, semiconductor fab equipment, additive manufacturing systems, laser assemblies and RF amplifiers.
The supplies operate from high-voltage three-phase inputs in 360 – 528 Vac delta or wye configurations, eliminating the need for external step-down transformers in many installations. Configurable load sharing lets engineers assign output power between channels up to the full rated power, supporting more flexible system architectures and simplifying inventory.
The key features are:
- 4500 W rated power with single or dual outputs and load share support.
- PMBus remote monitoring and configuration for voltage, current and health metrics.
- Built-in status signals (AC Fail, DC Good, dropped phase) and remote control options.
- Industrial-grade temperature range and compliance with global safety standards.
Targeting industrial and laboratory segments, the new series supports series or parallel configurations to scale voltage or power as needed, meeting diverse deployment demands. Built-in status and control features including isolated AC fail, DC good and dropped phase alarms, remote on/off, remote sense and a 12 V standby supply enhance system monitoring and reliability. PMBus communications provide detailed remote visibility and configuration of key parameters such as output voltage, current, internal temperature and fan speed, enabling tighter control in automated and instrumented environments.
Designed for broad ambient conditions, the power supplies can start at –40 °C and operate up to +70 °C, with a linear derating strategy. Typical efficiency sits around 93 %, balancing energy use and thermal performance in dense power systems. Compliance with global safety and emissions standards including IEC/UL/CSA/EN62368-1, CE, UKCA and EN55032 alongside robust isolation and rugged construction, aligns the series with industrial reliability expectations.
The modular format, control sophistication and phase-agnostic input support make this series a versatile choice for modern power-hungry industrial systems demanding scalable output and enhanced visibility.
