Making Antenna Selection Easier

Antenna selection still takes days and many trials. Can this AI tool change this process, helping teams move faster and avoid early design mistakes. Find out!

Choosing the right antenna early in a design affects system performance, cost, and time-to-market. A wrong starting choice can lead to redesigns, delays, and higher development effort. Yet engineers rely on datasheets, parametric filters, and manual comparisons to make these decisions. This process can take hours or days as RF systems become more complex and product options increase.

Taoglas has introduced an AI-based antenna product recommendation engine that changes how antennas and RF components are selected. The platform provides automated guidance that helps users move faster and make choices without RF expertise.

The tool is designed for RF engineers and non-technical decision-makers. Hardware engineers can narrow down antenna options, while system designers who are less familiar with RF trade-offs receive guided support. This allows both groups to move forward with fewer iterations.

The recommendation engine embeds over two decades of Taoglas RF design experience into a digital platform available at any time. The AI is trained on design data and insights from thousands of projects. It scans, filters, and refines antenna options in minutes based on application needs, frequency bands, form factors, and other design inputs.

Taoglas offers a wide antenna portfolio, covering many variants across frequencies, sizes, and applications, which makes early selection difficult. The engine reduces this effort by guiding users toward suitable options early in the design process. This helps teams move from concept to sampling, prototyping, and testing with less delay.

The tool is available worldwide and is part of the AntennaXpert ecosystem. It works with Antenna Builder and Cable Builder for configuration and Antenna Integrator for PCB placement. Together, these tools support a workflow from antenna selection to product integration.

“Choosing the right antenna has traditionally depended on individual experience, undocumented expertise, and extensive manual comparison,” said David Connolly, Global Product Management Director at Taoglas. “This recommendation engine is a game-changer. We’ve distilled our RF knowledge into an intuitive tool that delivers answers on demand, whether you know exactly what you need or you’re still defining your application.”
