ASUS has released a couple of Intel W790 workstation motherboards – the Pro WS W790E-SAGE SE and the Pro WS W790-ACE. Both motherboards are built for the latest Intel Xeon W-3400 and W-2400 processors and are capable of handling the full overclocking capability of the new processors. The Pro WS W790 series offers comprehensive hardware and software-level remote management to keep IT on track. Both motherboards are suitable to meet the high demand of graphic designers, data scientists, architects, engineers, engineers, etc and can also be used for application in complex designs, simulations, rendering and AI inferencing workloads.

According to the company, the Pro WS W790E-SAGE SE has been released for the high-end workstation market. This motherboard is based on a 12×13-inch EEB form factor. The Pro WS W790E-SAGE SE features 8 slots for up to 2TB of ECC R-DIMM DDR5 memory, moreover, it offers a total of 7 PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, dual 10G Ethernet ports, a dedicated BMC LAN port for remote management, and a wide range of USB and other ports. The Pro WS W790E-SAGE SE uses a dedicated gigabit Ethernet controller assigned to the onboard AST2600 BMC for the connection of IPMI architecture, allowing for BIOS updates, hardware resets, or critical issue fixes via a web UI. The specification provided in the motherboard ensures both stable operations as well as some overclocking potential.

The Pro WS W790-ACE supports Intel Xeon W-2400 and W-3400 processors with eight RAM slots supporting up to 2 TB of ECC R-DIMM RAM in a quad-channel configuration. The Pro WS W790-ACE with its five PCIe 5.0 x16 slots, and multi-GPU arrangements can offer power pack performance. Three SlimSAS slots provide advanced storage options, and a 10 Gbps Marvell AQC113CS Ethernet port is ready for network-attached storage (NAS). In addition, one 2.5 Gbps Intel I226-LM Ethernet port is ready for streaming or file uploads.
