The device can measure high frequency signals while supporting debug and compliance in advanced interface standards

Keysight Technologies has introduced the Infiniium XR8 real time oscilloscopes, aimed at accelerating high speed digital validation and compliance testing. The new platform combines updated hardware and software to address increasing data rates, shrinking signal margins and compressed development cycles.
As interface standards such as USB4, DisplayPort 2.1 and DDR5 continue to scale in speed and complexity, engineers face longer validation cycles and reduced tolerance for noise and jitter. The new architecture is designed to condense multi-day validation tasks into shorter testing windows while maintaining measurement consistency.
The platform integrates a redesigned front end ASIC, along with an integrated ADC and DSP digital engine. This combination is intended to preserve signal integrity, improve timing accuracy and enable repeatable measurements across high speed serial, memory and mixed signal designs. Intrinsic jitter is specified as low as 13 femtoseconds rms, with noise below 130 microvolts at 8 GHz bandwidth, supporting margin analysis for emerging high speed interfaces.
A revised mechanical design reduces power consumption, improves thermal efficiency and lowers acoustic noise within a compact footprint. This allows deployment in space constrained laboratories and dense validation environments, with placement closer to the device under test.
The oscilloscopes operate on the Infiniium 2026 software platform, which introduces faster response times, multithreaded processing and workflow tools such as flexible waveform windows and integrated SCPI recording.
Jun Chie, Vice President, Keysight Product Management, said: “Our customers are under intense pressure to validate increasingly complex, high-speed designs on compressed schedules. The Infiniium XR8 directly addresses that reality, preserving signal fidelity, accelerating compliance workflows, and reducing lab constraints in a single, streamlined platform. It’s about giving engineers back time, confidence, and productivity when they need it most.”
