Embedded antennas designed for cellular, GNSS, and Wi-Fi connectivity aim to simplify integration inside connected electronics.

As connected devices continue shrinking in size while demanding more wireless functionality, Taoglas has introduced two new embedded antenna families designed to consolidate multiple connectivity standards into a single compact component. The new FXP30x and PC30x series combine cellular, GNSS, and Wi-Fi capabilities in space-saving antenna designs aimed at simplifying integration for IoT, telematics, healthcare, and industrial applications.
The new lineup consists of six antenna variants split across two form factors: the flexible FXP30x series and the rigid PC30x series. Both support a wide frequency range spanning 600 MHz to 8000 MHz, enabling compatibility with global cellular networks, satellite positioning systems, and modern Wi-Fi bands.
The antennas are intended to reduce the number of individual RF components required inside compact electronics. By integrating multiple wireless technologies into a single embedded antenna, device manufacturers can simplify internal layouts, reduce assembly complexity, and shorten product development cycles.
The FXP30x models use flexible polymer-based PCB technology that allows the antennas to be mounted in tight or curved internal spaces where rigid components are difficult to accommodate. The ultra-thin antennas include adhesive backing for installation on non-metal surfaces such as plastic or glass enclosures, making them suitable for compact wearable and portable devices.
Meanwhile, the PC30x series provides the same wireless functionality in a rigid FR4 PCB format. These antennas are designed for applications where structural stability is preferred and can be mounted directly inside enclosures using either adhesive or plastic screws.
Each antenna is supplied with a pre-assembled cable and an I-PEX MHF® I connector to simplify integration with wireless modules. Taoglas has also color-coded cable variants intended for longer cable configurations to reduce installation errors during assembly.
Taoglas says the antennas are optimized for high efficiency and strong peak gain while maintaining footprints small enough for embedded deployment. The company is targeting applications including asset tracking devices, smart agriculture systems, e-mobility platforms, industrial IoT hardware, connected healthcare equipment, and wearable electronics where internal space remains limited but multi-standard wireless support is increasingly required.
