With a 50% reduction in power consumption, enhanced sensitivity, and broad temperature resilience, these innovative solutions meet the demands of portable and battery-dependent devices.

Allegro MicroSystems, Inc. introduced its latest inductive position sensors and advanced micropower magnetic switches and latches. These new solutions are designed to increase precision, reliability, and power efficiency across automotive, industrial, and consumer applications while significantly reducing system costs and extending battery life.

The new micropower magnetic switches, APS11753 and APS12753, are engineered to deliver ultra-low power consumption, reducing energy usage by 50% compared to previous models. With improved sensitivity options, these switches ensure high tolerance in variable air gaps, making them ideal for battery-dependent applications in sectors such as medical, industrial, and consumer technology.

Key Features include:

  • Precise Contactless Angle and Motor Position Sensing: Delivers smooth motion, dynamic speed control, and reduced vibration for energy savings.
  • Wide Temperature Range: Provides reliable performance in extreme conditions.
  • Digital Compensation and Programmable Linearity: Enhances accuracy, offering flexibility across various design needs.

The new micropower magnetic switches and latches (APS11753 and APS12753) feature ultra-low power consumption, significantly extending battery life and making them ideal for portable and wireless devices. With a broad range of magnetic sensitivity options, these switches can be precisely tailored to meet various application needs, from effective stray field rejection to handling low magnetic field scenarios. Additionally, their enhanced sensitivity helps compensate for mechanical misalignments, enabling wider airgap variations and reducing the overall solution cost for more efficient, cost-effective design.

The company lineup emphasizes innovation in high-efficiency, precise sensing technology. Earlier this year, it launched its highest-bandwidth current sensors (ACS37030 and ACS37032) and shunt replacement current sensors (ACS37220 and ACS37041), further expanding its energy-efficient offerings with the XtremeSense TMR sensors.

“We’re thrilled to launch our newest inductive position sensors, pushing the boundaries in precision and efficiency for position sensing,” said Ram Sathappan, Sr. Director of Global Marketing & Applications at Allegro MicroSystems. “These sensors and switches empower designers to achieve accurate, energy-efficient performance in critical applications, including safety-sensitive electric vehicle traction motors.
