The 0.8-inch Transparent 48×64 LCD SPI Display Module is available on Tindie and is designed by Questwise Ventures in the United States of America. It offers a 48×64 pixel resolution with black pixels on a see-through background. Unlike opaque displays, it shows clear monochrome images while keeping the background visible, making it useful for layered visuals in both creative and technical setups.

With no built-in backlight, it works well for optical projection—shine a bright LED through it to project sharp silhouettes of the display content onto a surface. The black pixels block light, enabling miniature projection and other custom uses.

The display features a 48×64 pixel transparent LCD with black pixel rendering, a 0.8-inch diagonal display area, no backlight for custom lighting and projection, and an SPI interface using the ST7565 controller. You can shine a high-brightness LED through the screen to project content onto walls, diffusers, or even holographic film surfaces. This makes it suitable for micro signage, wearable projectors, or props inspired by science fiction. It can also be integrated into optical systems such as smart glasses, HUDs, or AR viewfinders, where overlaying graphics on the real world is essential.

The module can be used to add dynamic display elements to clear acrylic panels, model kits, or compact devices without obstructing the overall design. It also works well for retro-tech or cyberpunk builds, creating a floating display effect similar to vintage HUDs and CRT overlays. Whether it’s for a futuristic wearable, an artistic installation, or an experimental user interface, this transparent LCD enables applications that opaque displays cannot achieve.
