We spoke to Jayaraj Esvar, who is the chief executive officer and director at Fernlink Technologies; in our quest to find out more about technologists in the Internet of Things (IoT) domain in India. Check out, excerpts from our interaction with Jayaraj, below:
Q. What is the USP of your organisation with respect to IoT?
A. We are an Internet of Things (IoT) as-a-Platform provider for industrial digitalisation and we provide solutions for preventive maintenance and solutions in the area of supply chain management.
Q. What is the name of your product? What is its usage?
A. Ours is an IoT Platform, with smart gateways required for solutions on (Preventive maintenance, Supply chain management).
Q. What prompted you to design such a solution?
A. We started with SmartHome Product, then we build a generic IOT platform to host multiple solutions on top of it. We saw the return on investment (RoI) for smarthome from stakeholders were not good and wanted to move from bsuiness to consumer (B2C) market to business to business ( B2B).
Q. What are the key technologies that you are working on? What niche do you intent to be a leader in?
A. IOT for Preventive Maintenance and supply chain management.
Q. What are the major features or projects that your team is currently involved in?
A. Smart Home – for SetTop box.
Q. Whom do you target as clients?
A. Manufacturing Industries, along with clients requiring IOT solution for their Enterprise Resource Programs (ERP).
Q. How many engineers do you currently have, and how many do you intend to hire in the next 12 months?
A. We have around eight Engineers. We also have plans to hire ten more.
Q. What roles are you looking at hiring for?
A. We hire mainly for individual contributors (IC) roles.
