Q. How would you describe Vinrox’s capabilities and key services?

A. We are an ESDM company, an electronic system design and manufacturing organisation, capable of manufacturing anything from a single unit to a million units. This level of flexibility is not offered by many EMS companies, as they typically focus either on prototypes or on high-volume production.

Q. Where is your manufacturing facility located and what capabilities does it offer?

A. Our manufacturing facility is located in Makarpura GIDC, Vadodara, Gujarat, with a floor area of around 50,000 square feet (4645.15 square metres). We operate state-of-the-art SMT and box-build facilities equipped with new machines from global leaders such as Fuji, Panasonic, Koh Young, and Heller.

Q. Why do you prefer premium machine brands like Fuji and Panasonic?

A. Fuji and Panasonic hold a dominant global market share and are widely used by leading EMS companies such as Foxconn and Jabil. These machines are proven, reliable, and capable of handling highly complex manufacturing requirements.

Q. Who are your primary customers and target industries?

A. Industrial automation and control form the largest share of our customer base, followed by industrial IoT. We also serve medical electronics, lighting, power electronics, and a limited number of commercial products.

Q. With customers having diverse requirements, how do you ensure smooth execution and strong relationships?

A. Each customer is assigned a dedicated programme manager who serves as a single point of contact, coordinating internally and with the customer on a daily basis. This approach enables us to manage ECNs, design changes, and production issues quickly, ensuring minimal delays and efficient operations, even for high-mix, low-volume customers.

Q. How do you ensure timely delivery despite long lead times in semiconductors?

A. We rely heavily on customer forecasts and request blanket purchase orders for the full year, which allows us to plan procurement and production more effectively. We also use value engineering to identify alternative components, with customer approval, to mitigate long lead times.

Q. What testing and validation processes do you follow?

A. We conduct 100% SPI after solder paste printing and 100% 3D AOI after reflow. In addition, we perform ICT, functional testing, and end-of-line testing as per customer test plans. For BGAs, we conduct X-ray inspection, and thermal profiling is performed on every PCBA to ensure correct reflow parameters. Our objective is to ship products with zero defects and no dead-on-arrival (DOA) cases.

Q. Do you have in-house R&D capabilities?

A. We have a small in-house R&D team that handles limited design projects. For larger design requirements, we collaborate with trusted local design houses under strict NDAs to ensure protection of customer IP.

Q. How was your experience participating in the recent EFY Gujarat Expo?

A. The response was strong and helped us connect with new customers, existing clients, and supply chain partners. Regional exhibitions play a vital role in improving visibility and strengthening regional sales.

Q. How supportive has the Gujarat state government been towards EMS manufacturing?
