The Hardware Engineer will be required to work on Analog / Digital circuit designing for control electronics system. Work on circuit validation through Simulations. Participate in EMI / EMC and certification tests for hardware designed for Medium Voltage switchgear. Hardware engineer will primarily be working for Product Development team in Pune and Europe.

- Design, develop, and implement analog and digital circuits from early concept phase to serial production for Medium Voltage Switchgear products.
- Create schematics and define constraints for PCB layout. Define verification specifications and execute verification activities of your designs by simulation and prototype testing.
- Create manufacturing documentation for serial production and specifications for production test equipment.
- Collaborate closely with system architects and software developers to breakdown system requirements to requirement specifications for hardware
- Take responsibility for hardware development projects, as project member or as project leader, including risk identification, alignment with targets, and close coordination with suppliers and other functions (e.g. product management). Work in a cross functional/ multi-disciplinary team in making technology/ engineering decisions required for project execution.
- Contribute to discussions of intellectual property and support preparation of project clearance reports. Monitor technology developments and technologies to identify technical drivers for R&D projects, supported by your thorough understanding of key business drivers for Eaton’s products and solutions.
- Participate in internal and external networks to expand your knowledge of your area of expertise.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s / Master’s in Electronics Engineering with 4-7 years of experience in areas of embedded systems development for analog, digital and mixed-signal design. Experience in the development of IoT for MV products would be considered a plus
Skills:
- Sound knowledge in designing electronic circuits, circuit diagrams, PCB layouts and simulation tools and relevant product standards such as UL, IEC & NEC.
- Sound Knowledge on System Achitecture/Worked on system architecture projects.
- Demonstrated product execution from concept through commercialization on at least 1 projects of medium technical complexity involving concept generation, POC, verification, validation and certification as per global standards. Experience must include hand on experience with design of products from concept to commercialization including and not limited to component selection, schematics creation & evaluation.
- Basic Firmware knowledge expected
- Should have good knowledge on different product design tools environment like Altium, LT Spice, P Spice etc. and simulation tools as required for product design and development.
- Analytical skills must include understanding component design/ selection, stresses, fatigue life, component fits and establishing efficient, ergonomic methods of assembly.
- Having worked on Dumb to Smart product development would be an added plus
- Awareness of DFSS / DMAIC processes will be an added advantage
- Completes / reviews analysis on components through the use of MathCAD or Excel calculations.
- Component selection with thermal and stress analysis.
- Excellent oral and written communications skills. A high degree of aptitude, creativity, and self-direction is required.
