Cables for Fast Machine Vision

The growing use of high resolution cameras in industrial robots and factory automation equipment has increased the demand for compact cables capable of stable high speed video transmission. As equipment becomes smaller and more mobile, wiring solutions must also support repeated movement, tight installation spaces, and resistance to electrical noise while maintaining reliable data transfer.

Addressing these requirements, OKI Electric Cable has developed new machine vision interface cables compatible with GVIF and GMSL LVDS transmission standards. The cables support high speed image data transfer for AI based inspection and vision systems used in robotics and industrial automation environments.

The cables feature a slim 3 mm outer diameter and are designed for both fixed and moving installations. To support use in dynamic robotic systems, the moving type cable has been tested for durability across up to 10 million sliding bending cycles. Both cable types use waterproof FAKRA connectors to support reliable operation in industrial environments and to reduce signal interference.

By allowing fixed and moving cable sections to be connected through intermediate connectors, only the moving portion needs replacement during maintenance, reducing downtime and servicing effort.
